DE NOVO O SILÊNCIO

O silêncio é como se fosse água. Daquela água pura
da montanha que se bebe directamente pelo coração.

Jorge Sousa Braga

RESPOSTA

Pergunta-me

faz-me perguntas

pergunta-me que sonho tive no texto da noite

pergunta-me se sofro porque tudo abrasas.

COM A TUA LETRA

Porque eu amo-te, quer dizer, estou atento
às coisas regulares e irregulares do mundo.
Ou também: eu envio o amor
sob a forma de muitos olhos e ouvidos
a explorar, a conhecer o mundo.

Porque eu amo-te, isto é, eu dou cabo
da escuridão do mundo.
Porque tudo se escreve com a tua letra.

Fernando Assis Pacheco

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

 Dylan Thomas

XLIII

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of everyday's
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints,--I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life!--and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.

Elizabeth Barett Browning, Sonnets from the Portuguese

The Taxi

When I go away from you
The world beats dead
Like a slackened drum.
I call out for you against the jutted stars
And shout into the ridges of the wind.
Streets coming fast,
One after the other,
Wedge you away from me,
And the lamps of the city prick my eyes
So that I can no longer see your face.
Why should I leave you,
To wound myself upon the sharp edges of the night?

Amy Lowell
